XForms is an XML format for the specification of a data processing model for XML data and user interface for the XML data. XForms can also be used to describe a user interface and a set of common data manipulation tasks.

What is XML good for? It looks to me like a LOT of extra typing and work to get absolutely nothing in return.
What is XML and how is it used? Please don't quote WIKI or a textbook to me. I don't believe anything from wiki and the textbooks are so full of themselves in details that they don't provide a reason for XML to exist.
Any web programming gurus here?
