Why Is My Adobe PDF Form Being Emailed Back to Me as Xml Document?

by nForms on July 8, 2012

I crated a form in Acrobat 8 Professional and have posted it on my website. When people are filling out the form and email it back to me I am receiving it as an XML document. AHHHH. I am not sure why it would do that. Any hints? It has a sumbit button - not sure if they are using that when they email.

I can think of several possibilities:

1. Did you set up the form to be filled out by people who have only Adobe Reader? If so, perhaps this is what A.R. sends back for a filled-out form.
2. If you didn’t, perhaps the recipients are converting it to a Word document and filling that out. Are the xml documents of file type .docx? That’s Word 2007.

Hope that helps.

What’s the action of the form? The form itself? A php file? What’s the code to send the email?
